May 11, 2017. Mackinac to Fish Creek, WI.
May 11, 2017. Mackinac to Fish Creek, WI. It is actually May 12 as I type this. There was no Internet signal last night in Tennison Campground in Peninsula State Park. That will likely be a common occurrence for the next two weeks. All that means is that I will need to move to a stronger signal periodically. That's what I've done this morning. You may think it odd that the strongest signal I could find was the one in the parking lot of Door County Bakery. We arrived at 8:30 knowing that the bakery doesn't open until 9:00. You need to get to the bakery early or all the good stuff will be snached up by poachers.
We will move to Weborg Campground in PSP today. I am hoping that the Internet signal will be stronger there. It is closer to the town of Fish Creek, so maybe I'll be able to deliver same-day service in future blogs.
The photos you see are all taken along the Upper Peninsula in Michigan and Wisconsin. That's Lake Michigan in the first photo. There is also a photo of a representative row of fishing cabins. Those cabins are pretty typical of several abandoned commercial enterprises in the UP. I am sure they were popular at one time. These haven't been used for many years.
It is good to be back in Door County. This the 6th or 7th time we've been here. That is enough to learn where the good eateries are. We'll try to make all our favorites and maybe add a new one or two.
Good day.
