January 4, 2017. Port Aransas and Doc's.

January 4, 2017.  Port Aransas and Doc's.  Harvey has been sitting since the first of the year.  Today, we unplugged from the campground and drove to Port Aransas.  We toured several commercial campgrounds.  They were nice, but the lots were small and RVs were tightly packed together.  Sites are more expensive than the state park.  However, they offer all the amenities including a pool, spa, cable, electric and water.  Moreover, there is a 14-day consecutive stay prohibition at the state park.  We will have to move somewhere for at least three days before we can return.  At the moment, we are pondering the options.

There is a Doc's Seafood and Oyster Restaurant in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  When we approached Padre Island Sunday, we noticed another Doc's Seafood place here.  After touring Port Aransas, we drove back to Doc's.  However, this Doc's is a seafood and steak house.  It is not related to the Doc's in Gulf Shores.  But, the food was good.  You will be surprised to learn that I ordered flounder and not steak.  See, I can be open to new foods.  It's only taken seventy years to get there.

It was cooler today, too cool to sit out in our puffy chairs.  It was also too cool to wade in the Gulf.  So, after dinner, Annie wanted to dance.  Harvey does not really have a dance floor.  It is just as well.  After listening to her giggle at my lack of rhythm for seven minutes, I called the dance over.  Twenty minutes later, she was still giggling.  That is not the way to get me to dance.  I have my self-respect, you know.  I don't want to dance anymore.

Goodnight.

Ah, I bet you'd do just about anything to get that cute little giggle out of her. ☺️
