October 13, 2014, Battle Creek, MI. We are in Battle Creek, MI, tonight. We left home yesterday with Harvey the RV waving goodbye from the driveway. Today, a driver from Leach RV in Lincoln, NE, picked up Harvey and took him to the lot where we expect he will acquire a new owner in the near future. T-Harvey has Minnie Mouse on the hood. The grandchildren gave us Minnie when we were all in Disney World in 2011. Oh, the umbrella was a gift from the Loomers as a favor from Betsy's wedding Saturday. The wedding was a splendid affair with only family in attendance. Each member of the family had a speaking part during the ceremony. It was all very nice.
We are 615 miles from home. Tonight, we are in Fort Custer State Recreation Area, named to honor Civil War General George Armstrong Custer. Tomorrow night will find us in western New York above Niagara Falls. We will meander across northern New York until we pop out in Vermont. We plan to spend a week or so in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and perhaps Massachusetts. We will be back home the first week in November.
T-Harvey, the new RV, is doing well. It drives smoothly and has averaged 15.5 mpg. We are having to figure out some of the things which are characteristic of diesel engines. But, we'll figure it out. We are moderately smart, you know.
I have included a couple of oxymoronic pictures; one has some of the expensive, sophisticated and enormous windmills juxtaposed against an aging barn. The other has a barn with giant engines seated on a flatbed parked in front of another aging barn. I like those.
Last night was spent in a Walmart parking lot in Springfield, Illinois. We were surrounded by 18-wheel rigs. We felt pretty well-protected. Annie said the trucks kept her awake. They put me to sleep. And, that is why you got no blog last night.
The person who correctly identifies the home shown above gets a popsicle. You have seen it before. I'll tell you the street address is 1704. You have to do the rest on your own. What flavor popsicle? Whatever you want. I am a big spender and I want to make you happy.

A left field, out of the ball park guess...The house is located in the Hannibal, MO area and where a younger Malachi spent some of his formative years.
Fred is spot on - it's the Hannibal house! Looks like they've done some work to it since the last time you passed through.
Fred, you are good. You have proven yourself to be a regular reader of the blog. You are exactly right. We lived in this house from 1959-1962 in Hannibal. The garage on the right side has been remodled into added living space. And, there was no a/c back then, not even a window unit.
What flavor do you like?
BJ, second place is a nickel. Remind me the next time we are together.
