October 10, 2012 - Ontario in a Day
October 10, 2012 - Ontario in a Day. I expected to be somewhere in Canada tonight. Instead, we are about 20 miles north of Niagara Falls on Lake Ontario in Fourmile Creek State Park in the extreme northwest corner of New York. We crossed the Province of Ontario today, covering over 350 miles. There was no time for pictures but for the two, above. The first is Lake Ontario and the second, just another radiant tree we met along the way.
You may have discerned that Quebec is a scratch. It was about 800 miles off-route. The desire to see Quebec again was outweighed by the time it takes to get there. So, it will have to wait for another trip. The same is true for PEI and Nova Scotia. We will mill about New England only over the next several weeks. We are not disappointed. There is plenty to see and do here.
Tomorrow, we will stay close to the shore of Lake Ontario, unless we find another back road which draws us away. That has happened before.
