October 8, 2013. From the Colorful Back Roads of Vermont to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I had no Internet signal last night so this is late. But, yesterday was a good day. We intentionally took back roads from Manchester, VT to the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire. Some of the back roads were unintentional. One of the pictures above is a narrow dirt road we did not take intentionally. There was some highway emergency which resulted in a detour. The detour is what you see in the picture. It wasn't bad until we encountered some large trucks coming the opposite directions.
The further north we went yesterday, the less color we saw. Many of the trees were losing leaves which makes the color less intense. Still, we got some pictures before turning north. And, we'll catch up with the color when we start driving south. That will happen tomorrow or Friday.
